Recognizing early on the growing importance of technology in the legal field, Ilona van Opdorp - van de Kooi has been a strong advocate for integrating design thinking, alongside technological and visual literacy, into law curricula. She believes that law students should not only understand what technology is and its capabilities but also how to collaborate effectively with tech and design professionals. Ilona is at the forefront of making legal systems more transparent, accessible, and equitable. She teaches Legal Design as part of the Legal Technology minor at the Erasmus School of Law and, together with Kanan Dhru, coordinates the Convergence Center for Law, Design & AI, a collaboration of the Delft University of Technology and Erasmus University Rotterdam.
